David R. Dilley M.Ed., BCBA

David Dilley is the owner of Horizon Consulting Group.  He has been working in the field of special education since 1993.  After college Mr. Dilley took a job teaching in a private school for children with developmental and intellectual disabilities where he remained for seven years.  During this time Mr. Dilley received his teaching certificate in Intensive Special Education.  The next six years were spent in public schools serving students with special needs and their families. The last two years in public schools Mr. Dilley was the district-wide behavior specialist, which was one of the first of its kind on the south shore at the time.  After achieving his Master’s Degree in General Education (M.Ed.) and his Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Mr. Dilley took a position with a specialty-service agency coordinating in-home ABA services for children, while maintaining a steady public school consultation schedule. Mr. Dilley’s latest move came when he opened Horizon Consulting Group with the goal of providing public school students with the high level services often reserved for those in specialized private schools.  Over his more than two decades in the field Mr. Dilley has worked with individuals from nursery schools to nursing homes and with a range of developmental, intellectual and social emotional diagnoses.  He has taught in substantially separate classrooms, facilitated inclusion services, managed group homes, provided in-home services for children in early intervention and consulted to countless elementary, middle and high school classrooms as well as post-secondary programs at colleges and in the workplace.  In addition, Mr. Dilley has made presentations at numerous regional and national conferences and has taught graduate level courses at local colleges and universities.  Mr. Dilley resides on the south shore with his wife and two children.
